Joey Bada$$ is in some hot water Down Under as he was arrested for allegedly punching a security guard and breaking his nose in Australia.

According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the Brooklyn, N.Y.-bred rapper, who was in town to promote his forthcoming album, 'B4.Da.$$,' was on his way to perform onstage at the Falls Festival in New South Wales on Friday night (Jan. 2) when he was stopped by a security guard checking credentials.

Australian police report that Joey, 19, punched the 20-year-old security guard right before performing. The guard apparently told authorities that he thought Joey was "an unauthorized person." After the alleged assault took place, the Pro Era leader satisfied fans by still going on with his show.

Paramedics were called to the scene to treat the broken nose and other injuries. The guard was taken to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Joey, born Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott, was arrested right after his set and brought to the Byron Bay police station, where he spent the night.

He has been charged with "assault occasioning actual bodily harm" and was granted bail after appearing in Lismore Local Court on Saturday (Jan. 3). He will have to appear in court again on March 19.

Earlier today, Joey shared some interesting words via Twitter about his tarnished image, hours after news of the incident spread. "The crucification of my image has already begun. Remember don't believe everything you see or hear. They build u up to tear you down...," he wrote.
