Joey Bada$$ decided to bless fans with a new song for his birthday, the groove-heavy, politically-charged "Land of the Free."

The rapper also apologized for missing Yams Day 2017 because he was held up by security. He made up for his absence with the release of the song, and also stopping by GQ to deliver some bars.

Over snappy guitar licks, he rhymes, “The land of the free is for the free loaders/ leave us dead in the streets then be their organ donors/ they disorganize my people made us all loners/ still got the last names of our slave holders.”

Just in time for the inauguration, the song also tackles racism, oppression, white supremacy and the economic disenfranchisement of black folk. In addition to releasing the track, it was also revealed that he was asked by Trump's people to perform at the inauguration, but he declined.
