It hasn't even been 24 hours, but we already have our first response record to Kendrick Lamar's firestorm of a verse on Big Sean's 'Control.' Joell Ortiz has officially stepped up to the plate over the Compton rapper's claim that he's the "king of New York."

The Brooklyn MC spends a solid three minutes filling every space possible on the No I.D.-produced instrumental. That's plenty of time to address a slew of topics related to Lamar's rhymes and recent career moves, including his recent performance alongside Erykah Badu at the 2013 BET Awards.

Ortiz also name-drops Dr. Dre, calls out fashion rappers, killing the Walking Dead, and how he would never call himself the king of Los Angeles because that's the West Coast. For Ortiz, he's on "this coast" aka the East Coast. Oh, and as for Lamar saying that he's the king of New York? Ortiz tackles that immediately: "Homie, you ain't the king of New York/ You're the next thing on my fork."
