Joe Budden Arrested for NYC Traffic Violation Stemming From 2007
There was a noticeable absence at the Slaughterhouse show Thursday night (March 29) at New York City's Best Buy Theater. According to MTV, rapper Joe Budden was arrested for an outstanding warrant stemming from a traffic violation in 2007.
Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and Royce Da 5'9" took to the stage with noticeable gusto, but it was apparent to the crowd that something was wrong. After performing two songs, the MCs notified the crowd that Budden had been taken into custody by the NYPD before the show.
"Joey! Joey! Joey!" the crowd began to say in unison, without any prompting from the onstage rappers. Their support for the incarcerated Budden came out in between songs all throughout the night.
"We love Joey too," Royce told the crowd. "Chanting for him ain't gonna get him outta jail." Apparently Joe Budden has been released.
