A song covered on 'American Idol' is destined to become popular amongst the show's fans, and to satisfy eager viewers, FOX recently partnered with Interscope Records to digitally release anthologies from the competition after each episode airs. Tonight's release (March 16), titled 'American Idol: Top 12,' will hit iTunes at 10PM EST and features music from hip-hop, R&B and pop mainstays Jim Jonsin and Tricky Stewart.

Jonsin, a producer from Palm Beach, Fla., is known for a glossy, club-friendly sound on smashes like Lil Wayne's 'Lollipop,' T.I.'s 'Whatever You Like' and Beyoncé's 'Sweet Dreams.' He was the BMI songwriter of the year for 2009, and has been one of the industry's most in-demand collaborators since working with Wayne on that first, unavoidable hit.

Tricky Stewart, a longtime production and songwriting partner of The-Dream, is largely responsible for engineering a high fidelity R&B sound that made fans fall in love with Rihanna's 'Umbrella,' Beyoncé's 'Single Ladies: Put A Ring On It' and even the recent Justin Bieber chart-topper 'Baby.'

According to a press release, Interscope and FOX have found a unique niche with the digital compilation releases after 'American Idol' programs. Last week's set of original songs that contestants covered was a Top 10 iTunes seller.
