Jill Scott is keeping the momentum going after her fifth, long-awaited album, Woman, debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart in late July. On Thursday night (Sept. 24), the Philly songbird headed to Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform the uptempo groove "Run Run Run."

With live instrumentation backing her up, the "You Got Me" singer's voice broke through as she sang about a mother's love and sacrifice for her child. "Baby, Mama be back in a minute / Gotta hustle and handle the business," she belted over the big band sound.

"I'm Superwoman / Flying through the city / There's only one way to make baby go and get it / Overworked, Underpaid. / Lord knows I need a raise," preached the 43-year-old songstress.

The sounds of trumpets, drums and three male back-up singers only added to the lively performance on the Samsung stage.

Opposed to Travi$ Scott, who took the stage on Tuesday night (Sept. 23), Jilly from Philly kept the stage setup simple with just her band and three backdrops, which showed hazy colors of hot red, neon green and a soft orange. The R&B artist dressed in all-black with a fringe top while sporting her natural hair in a pinned up do. Scott's performance comes one month after her summer tour ended on Aug. 28.
