There's nothing like an intimate performance by a transcendent talent like Jhené Aiko. The Los Angeles songstress is the featured artist in the latest installment of our Live Bytes performance series presented by McDonald's.

A few weeks before the release of her new 'Sail Out' EP, Jhené performed songs from the project and her 'Sailing Soul(s)' mixtape for us and a few lucky attendees at MSR Studios in NYC. The small, invite-only audience included everyone from everyday music enthusiasts and Jhene Aiko super fans to big wig entertainment execs -- all excited to hear the voice that helped make songs like Drake's 'From Time' instant classics.

Not only did Miss Aiko and her band grace us with some powerful performances, she also sat with The Boombox editor Timmhotep to talk about her music, her favorite collaborations her alter ego "J. Hennessy," her spirituality and more.
