Jennifer Lopez, Twins ‘Didn’t Love Me': Singer Admits She Had Postpartum Paranoia

As Mother’s Day approaches, celebrity mamas have opened up about their personal experiences raising children in the June issue of Redbook. One of those famous moms is Jennifer Lopez, who revealed that she suffered from a serious case of “the baby blues” after giving birth to twins Emme and Max, AOL Music reports.

“I remember after the babies were born, about seven to 10 days in, I was like, ‘What is going on with me?'” J.Lo told the magazine. “I felt sad and depressed and thought the babies didn’t love me.” The singer turned to the popular parenting book, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” in order to figure out what was causing her postpartum paranoia.

“I actually remember picking up the book to try to see what was happening to me,” Lopez revealed. “And it said how you have this huge hormonal drop about seven to 10 days after you give birth. It’s called the ‘baby blues.’ But I just thought they didn’t like me!”

The “Dance Again” singer’s kids, now 4, have a famous father: Lopez’ ex-husband Marc Anthony.

J.Lo stars in the forthcoming movie inspired by the Heidi Murkoff and Sharon Mazel book, alongside Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Banks, Brooklyn Decker and Anna Kendrick. “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” hits theaters May 18.
