Watch Jennifer Lopez’s Tribute to Celia Cruz at 2013 American Music Awards

Jennifer Lopez performed the lone tribute sequence at the 2013 American Music Awards Sunday night (Nov. 24). The versatile singer-actress performed songs by the legendary Celia Cruz. Everything about the performance drew from the late Cuban singer’s vibrance from the boisterous horns, the salsa dance routines and the Lopez’s colorful outfits.

J.Lo’s dresses during the performance were, inarguably, the most eye-catching of the night. The 44-year-old artist started off with a draping, sparkling black dress before changing into a beautiful rainbow-colored outfit. The bevy of dancers around her were fiercely dancing until she ended the tribute with a more baring, pearl-colored outfit.

“[Celia's] music was full of work and energy, it fills your soul and in your bones when you listen to it, you can’t help but dance, I feel like she made the world dance,” Lopez told Fox News about Cruz’s influence on pop culture.
