Jennifer Lopez wowed audiences with an exciting but emotional tribute to Mexican-American songbird Selena Quintanilla at the 2015 Latin Billboard Latin Music Awards on Thursday (April 30).

Backed by Los Dinos, the family band that supported the late Tejano star, J.Lo dazzled in a sparkly pink-colored two-piece ensemble. One minute it was a lovely gown, then the next it was a body suit, which showed off her bodacious curves, and finally, a traditional Mexican chontal dress.

"Hands up for Selena and Los Dinos!" she yelled before kicking off the medley. Lopez performed Selena’s classic hits in this order: "Como La Flor," "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom," "Amor Prohibido," "I Could Fall In Love" and "No Me Queda Mas."

"We love you Selena," Lopez said before closing her performance.

Lopez was the perfect artist to salute Selena. The 45-year-old singer portrayed the young songbird in the 1997 biopic Selena. In fact, the director of the film, Gregory Nava, was in the audience cheering Lopez on as she was performing. Afterward, J.Lo hugged Selena's sister Suzette and brother A.B. onstage, which left everyone teary-eyed.

The Bronx, N.Y. native did a phenomenal job honoring the fallen star, who was tragically murdered 20 years ago. Two decades after her death, Selena’s musical legacy continues to live on in the hearts and ears of the Mexican-American community.
