Jennifer Hudson’s Mother Found Dead in Chicago Home

The mother of Academy Award-winning actress/singer Jennifer Hudson was found dead in her Chicago residence earlier today. According to media reports, a relative discovered the bodies of a man and woman in the South Side home.

Officials confirm the female victim is Hudson's 57-year-old mother Darnell Donnerson while the male victim has not been officially identified, but reports suggest it may be the singer's brother Jason. Chicago local news outlets are also reporting that police have launched a search for a 7-year-old boy, who's missing from the home.

Hudson began her career on 'American Idol' in 2004. The singer-turned-actress was later casted in 2006's 'Dreamgirls' and went on to win an Oscar for her performance as Effie White. Hudson released her self-titled debut on September 30.
