Jennifer Hudson to Sing National Anthem At Super Bowl

Actor/singer Jennifer Hudson has been confirmed to sing the national anthem at this year's Super Bowl. For months, many speculated that her first public appearance would be at the up-coming presidential inauguration or this year's Grammy's. Although Hudson will not be performing at the latter, she will in fact grace the stage at the MusiCares gala during Grammy week.

Hudson, who has stayed out of the spotlight following the murders of her mother, brother and nephew last October, has been flooded with a bevy of support from both fans and colleagues. Following the heinous crime, mogul Donald Trump allowed her to stay in a room in his Trump Towers Chicago, free of charge.

Her career also seems to be going full steam ahead as the singer received both NAACP Image Awards nominations and Grammy nods for her self-titled debut released last September. It's been a childhood dream of mine to release an album," she said. "So to receive four Grammy nominations is truly a blessing. I'm extremely honored and humbled by the nominations."

Super Bowl XXXVIII will take place Feb. 1 in Tampa, Fla. Performances leading up to the event will feature appearances by Rihanna, Fall Out Boy and Nelly. Bruce Springsteen is set to perform during halftime.
