Jay Z's streaming service TIDAL officially launches today (March 30), and his famous friends are giving him tons of support to celebrate his new business venture.

Last week, we shared the news that the lauded rapper won a bid for the company on March 10, and has fully integrated the service with WiMP, a Norwegian streaming site.

Before the big announcement, folks like Kanye West, Rihanna and Beyonce sent out tweets on Sunday night (March 29), encouraging everyone to join the TIDAL movement by turning their Twitter profile photo blue to stand in solidarity. The wave of tweets prompted fans of not only Hov but RiRi and more to go blue.

"It's time to turn the tide and make music history," tweeted Usher. "Show you are part of the movement by turning your profile pic blue. #TIDALforALL."

Hov sent a tweet as well and suggested that a big change in digital music music is coming. "The tides they are a changing," he wrote.

Meanwhile, Madonna got a little philosophical in her tweet and encouraged everyone to change their profile photos and sign up for the streaming service. "Music makes the people come together," wrote the Rebel Heart creator. "Join Madonna and turn your profile picture blue. Do it for the music."

Ye chimed in too and said music lovers can be part of history today by joining the site. "Together we can turn the tide and make music history," he wrote. "Start by turning your profile picture blue."

Jay Z will speak about TIDAL in a press conference, which is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET today. The announcement of his new movement can be viewed below or at tidal.com.

The company reportedly has far superior sound quality than its competitors like Spotify and Grooveshark, and the site hosts 25 million songs.
