After taking over Twitter with a surprise Q&A on Monday, Jay-Z appeared on Hot 97 earlier on Tuesday to give his first interview in two years. For nearly 45 minutes, Mr. Carter spoke candidly with Angie Martinez about his new 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' album, fatherhood, his parents' divorce, texting Barack Obama, his relationship with Dame Dash, and much more. Hov also shared his opinion on Kanye West's 'Yeezus' and addressed the possibility of 'Watch The Throne 2.'

Watch the full interview below and check out highlights after the jump.

On RIAA's rule change:
"If you did 500,000 digital, 200,000 or whatever the metrics is, they should certify what’s digital. It should’ve been happening. I was just the agent of change."

On not being afraid to fail:
"I believe I can do what I set my mind to, and not being afraid to fail. That holds a lot of people back, that fear of failure. I fail all the time. I'm a person that loves to win, I don't hate to lose -- that's a different personality trait."

On fatherhood:
"[It's] just more reaffirming, the things that’s really important in life and editing your life in such a way that you don’t have anything that’s distracting you; anything that takes away from that time you can be with your child is a distraction."

On parents' divorce:
"They were together in my early years, till I was 9 or something. That’s what made it worse, because I knew. Some people don’t even get to feel that sort of love at all, so you can’t miss what you ain't never had. It’s still this empty feeling. There’s more of an empty feeling having it, and then having it taken away from you."

On Twitter Q&A session:
"I was just in a great mood. It's new rules, let's just do something different. Let's me just destroy the whole model."

On reading blogs and watching TV:
"Once in a while, yeah. More music [blogs], though. I'm not worried about gossip. I've seen [Love & Hip-Hop], I've seen everything at least once or twice, [but] I'm not sourcing material from those places. I'm really just an ESPN, HBO guy. CNN is almost like TMZ. Certain things, it’s like, aww man, this is really just entertainment. It’s really all for ratings."

On Miley Cyrus:
"I like what she's doing right now, she's fearless. Just being herself, expressing herself. I think [her new style is] more of a reaction to people wanting her to be Hannah Montana."

On 'Yeezus':
"I love it. It's polarizing, because it's art. That's what art is. It forces you to have an opinion. What's good for the genre, is it pushes it forward. It's fearless."

On new Beyoncé material:
"Right now, B has 100,000 amazing songs, just playing them. We dance to them in our socks."

On Cuba trip:
"It just goes to show that it's all just entertainment. Not to dry snitch, but do you know how many people went to Cuba? There's so many people that have been to Cuba! I saw all kinds of people on the wall!"

On texting President Obama:
"He's a regular guy as well. He's very heavy into sports, so a lot of his analogies end up in sports. I don't know if this is breaching national security, but when he was getting elected the second time he was like, 'Hey, you know. Fourth quarter, just give me the ball.' I said, 'WORD.' That was amazing."

On Beyoncé's HBO special:
"It gave me a little anxiety, but it was something that she wanted to do, so it was like, 'fall back.' You feel weird just putting yourself out there in that sorta way -- especially when you reveal so much in your music. It feels like, 'Anymore? I'm gonna be naked out here!'"

On having more kids:
"Absolutely, God willing. Get a little basketball team going."

On 'Watch The Throne 2':
"Yeah, hopefully. It hasn't begun."

On Dame Dash:
"We created something that’s going to go down forever, so I can only have love for Dame. I just don’t know where we are in our life. Were we the same two young men at that time? Or will we gell in that way? I haven’t seen him in a while. I have ultimate confidence in him that he’ll find his way, because he’s an amazing and really smart guy."

On future plans:
"Tour, tour, tour. Then maybe a European tour, American tour. Yeah, a lot of tours. [Blue Ivy] is well traveled, her passport is insane. She travels well, too."
