New York Yankees all-star pitcher CC Sabathia received the big city birthday treatment on Sunday night (July 18) at Jay-Z's 40/40 club in Manhattan. Hov hosted the event, which was DJed by Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex and featured a robust guest list that included Beyonce, Anthony Hamilton, Spike Lee, Tyson Beckford and almost all of his teammates like Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Robinson Cano, Nick Swisher and many more.

According to the Daily News, Sabathia arrived at the club with his pregnant wife Amber around 11PM to the sound of Jay-Z's 'Fiesta' and a greeting from famed Yankees outfielder Reggie Jackson. Witnesses say the biggest points of discussion at the party were a 3-foot alligator in a tank off the dance floor and how A-Rod entered alone yet met up with semi-secret girlfriend Cameron Diaz inside. The party's timing couldn't have been more perfect. The Bronx Bombers won a series against Tampa Bay earlier in the afternoon and had a day off on Monday.

Jay-Z's offer to host the party comes as no surprise to Yankees fans. His 'Empire State of Mind' was the official theme to the team's World Series victory last season and he's gearing up to perform the first official concert at the new Yankee Stadium on September 13 with Eminem.
