Hip-hop's most celebrated rapper turns 41 today and where Jay-Z will end up is far from his Brooklyn stomping grounds. The 'Empire State of Mind' rhymer is currently in Melbourne, Australia, performing in support of U2's 360 tour, and it's apparent he'll turn another year older during his stay there.

Hov has been down under since earlier this week, where he took the stage at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night (Dec. 1), opening his show with the anthemic 'Run This Town,' sans collaborators Rihanna and Kanye West. On Friday night (Dec. 3), U2 put the spotlight on Hov when the group sang 'Happy Birthday' to celebrate his born day.

Known to accompany Jay-Z on several of his tour stops, Beyoncé is rumored to be in Australia as well. The 'Herald Sun' reports that the 'Halo' songstress was spotted in Melbourne's Federation Square on Tues. night (Nov. 30) and both performers stopped by Flinders Lane restaurant Cumulus Inc for dinner. The paper also claims Kanye West is in town.

Last year, Jay brought in his 40th birthday at the Casa de Campo resort in the Dominican Republic. The rapper was in the company of his wife, West, Alicia Keys and Sean "Diddy" Combs, among others.
