It was an exciting night at the Hollywood Palladium on Wednesday as Jay-Z, along with DJ AM, celebrated the reopening of the famed venue. AM took his spot behind the turntables in his first live appearance since surviving a fiery plane crash in Columbia, S.C. The crash proved fatal for four people and seriously injured the celebrity DJ and former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.

Jay ran through his hits and commanded the stage with his usual confidence before pausing to dedicate '99 Problems' to Sen. John McCain and an unnamed "homegirl." Jay offered up a hint that he was talking about Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and added, "the one who says 'You betcha.' " I'm gonna get in trouble for this," Jay laughed before launching into the first verse of the Grammy-winning record, "but f--- it, this is freedom of speech."
