Jay Z and Dame Dash posing together for a picture, all smiles, is a scene that hip-hop heads did not anticipate would ever happen. Defying all odds, the two are now shown standing shoulder-to-shoulder in a picture on Dash's Instagram.

The setting for this historic photo appears to be the birthday of mutual friend Chaka Pilgrim, the Head of Creative Visionary Marketing at Roc Nation. It is not known whether the two were aware that they would be at the same party, or if a conversation had happened prior to the party.

Jay and Dame have a lengthy, complicated relationship. The two formed a triumvirate with Kareem "Biggs" Burke to create Roc-A-Fella Records. From scratch, the three led Roc-A-Fella to incredible success during the 2000s, signing acts such as Kanye West, Cam'Ron, and Beanie Sigel, among many others, not to mention Jay's own success as a solo artist. Dame met Jay in the early 90s and stayed loyal behind the Brooklyn emcee even when major labels refused to sign him leading up to the release of 'Reasonable Doubt.'

However, the two eventually got embroiled into a nasty falling out, taking potshots at each other and sparking the disbanding of Roc-A-Fella. Their two trajectories stand in stark contrast; while Jay has gone on to create Roc Nation and remains one of the biggest artists and executives in hip-hop, Dame has been dealing with bankruptcy and possible eviction.

Signs of this reunion were certainly in the air in the last month or two. A few days after Jay's 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' was released, an Instagram video from the barber shop surfaced, showing Dame thoroughly enjoying the album. A few days later, when asked about Dame in an interview with Hot 97, Jay said that he still had love for his former business partner, adding that "he's an amazing and really smart guy."

Hopefully for their sake, this leads to more frequent meet-ups between two men who created an unstoppable dynasty last decade. At least for now, we can take satisfaction in knowing that the beef has ended.
