Jay-Z Coming Out of Retirement for New CD

Despite announcing his retirement from the rap game after releasing 2003's 'The Black Album,' Jay-Z isn't going anywhere. Not that he ever did, though.

The hip-hop mogul, who in his "hiatus" became president and CEO of Def Jam, embarked on a world tour and became part owner of NBA's New Jersey Nets, will release a new album, 'Kingdom Come,' this fall. "It was the worst retirement in history," Jay told Entertainment Weekly in the magazine's new issue, due Monday.

The rapper said he began hitting the studio over the summer for sessions that led to 'Kingdom.' The effort -- which features guests like Timbaland, Kanye West, Dr. Dre and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who produced a track called 'Beach Chair' -- is "more in the vein of 'The Black Album' than 'The Blueprint,"' he said. "I've been experimenting with things, different types of music."
