Oprah Winfrey and Jay-Z have taken their budding friendship Down Under. The talk show queen invited Jay, who is on tour in Australia with U2, to appear on her show, which is currently on location for the week. Jay stopped by the show, which is taping at the famed Sydney Opera House, to talk about his best-selling book 'Decoded,' which was featured on Winfrey's Favorite Things episode.

During his segment, Jay showed footage of him making a surprise visit to the students of Canterbury Boys' High School just outside Sydney, where he encouraged the boys to follow their dreams. "It was great," he told Oprah. "I see myself in their eyes, I believe in opportunities." 400 of the school's students were on hand at the show taping and -- in true Oprah style -- received a gift of new laptop computers for every student and teacher at the school.

The school's teacher Polly Dunam wrote a letter asking that the queen of talk and Jay, visit the school. "I said it would be great for Jay-Z to see a multicultural school. I wanted to show him Canterbury Boys' High School," she said. "I didn't think anything would happen and then I received a voicemail message from the [Oprah] show producers."

To kick-off her 25th and final season, Winfrey surprised her entire Chicago audience with the trip to Australia. Australian actors Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman and her husband, country singer Keith Urban also made appearances at a separate show taping. Jay-Z's last appearance on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' was in 2009.
