Jay-Z and Beyonce have lost the battle to trademark the name of their new daughter Blue Ivy. The hip-hop powerhouse couple wanted to start a line of baby products with the name, but Boston Fox reports that a Boston event planning company already holds the name.

Blue Ivy Events president Veronica Alexandra had to go to court to defend the trademark and won the rights last week on Tuesday (Oct. 16). There doesn't seem to be any hard feelings between the parties, Bey and Jay simply won't have legal rights to the name.

Blue Ivy events website has a photo of the couple posted, which reads "Congrats to our soul mate couple with baby Blue Ivy."

At least we have the good news that Beyonce will be performing at the Superbowl halftime show next year to balance out the sadness that Blue Ivy bottles and baby carriages won't be available at Wal-Mart anytime soon.
