Jay Z's TIDAL was under fire today (Feb. 29) as Yesh Music, LLC and John Emanuele of the band American Dollar sued the streaming service for overdue royalties. (And no, the irony of the band's name is not lost on us.)

However, according to the music service, they've paid everything in full already.

"TIDAL is up to date on all royalties for the rights to the music stated in Yesh Music, LLC and John Emanuele’s claim and they are misinformed as to who, if anyone, owes royalty payments to them," read a statement from TIDAL to Complex.  TIDAL also removed all music associated with Yesh Music. Ouch.

The lawsuit, which also names S. Carter Enterprises, LLC, claims that TIDAL streamed 116 of the band's songs without paying royalties for it. The news comes as a bad look on TIDAL as it was marketed as the streaming service that would pay artists their rightful pay.

This is something that the band's lawyer, Richard Garbarini mentioned in his argument against TIDAL.

"I find it fairly amazing an organization that claims it was going to pay the artists, systematically does not pay the artists," said Garbarini in a phone interview with Complex.

It's also unfortunate since the news comes right as TIDAL is riding a successful wave. With the exclusive release of several projects from Rihanna and Kanye West along with Beyonce's "Formation," it gained  1.5 million new subscribers. The streaming service also nabbed exclusive rights to T.I.'s next album. Jay Z's Roc Nation will also be managing DJ Khaled now.

Hopefully, the company and Jay Z can move beyond the lawsuit so both parties can continue on the road to success.
