After years of break-up to make-up rumors, Janet Jackson is confirming her split from boyfriend of seven years, Jermaine Dupri. In her first interview since the death of her brother Michael, the pop diva detailed conquering the single life, and whether or not she wants to get married. "I don't know if I'll get married again," she said. "I'll put it like this: If God wants me to, then I will.

Jackson also revealed that she's not opposed to dating again. "I've had people ask me out. I haven't entertained any offers thus far, but I'm locking myself in my work right now." News of a possible split grew when the usually camera shy couple were seen together less and less in the public eye. Despite the split Jackson said that she doesn't rule out the idea of having a family. "I'd adopt," she said. "I think that if I'm really supposed to have kids, it will happen, if that's God's plan for me."

The 43-year-old has been shooting the Tyler Perry film 'Why Did I Get Married Too' which is where she was when she got the phone call that her brother had died. She left the Atlanta set and flew to Los Angeles to be with her family. "I always wanted to have my mother's [Katherine Jackson] strength, but I didn't know if it was really there. But a few years back, something happened and I learned that I did. I'm not going to mention it, but we all know what it is. Now, coming off all this, it's even beyond that. I was just focused on my job at that moment within my family. Now at least I know that I can step up to the plate and not crumble when I'm needed. When it comes to something like this that is so, so serious, so painful, so traumatic, I can handle it."

Although details are scarce Jackson is working on a forthcoming album. She will take the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday to perform a tribute to the late King of Pop.
