Janelle Monáe is shaping up to have a busy summer. The Wondaland recording artist has been tapped as the opening act for six dates on the North American leg of Katy Perry's "California Dreams" tour, coming right on the heels of her co-headlining "Hooligans in Wondaland" trek with Bruno Mars.

Monae, who recently opened for Prince at several of his New York City gigs, will join the pop starlet on July 13 at Regina, South Dakota's Brandt Centre, continuing up to Canada for three dates in Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton. She rejoins with Perry on August 19 at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena before completing her tour duties at St. Louis' Scottrade Center on August 20.

Ahead of linking with Perry for her cotton candy-scented live experience, the 'Cold War' singer will grace venues across North America with label mate Mars and opening acts Plan B and Mayer Hawthorne for a 24-date tour that sets off at New York City's Roseland Ballroom on May 4. During their time on the road, the pair will visit Houston, Chicago, San Francisco and more. The cross-country jaunt wraps up at Phoenix's Comerica Theatre on June 15.
