Venisha Brown's supervisor, Hope Campbell, 46, called police on Monday morning (July 23), after allegedly spotting Brown driving her Chevrolet Suburban, which had been stolen the day prior.

According to the police report, Campbell attempted to retrieve the SUV's keys by reaching into the vehicle, but Brown drove away, dragging Campbell's body, as she fled the scene.

Police recovered the vehicle on Tuesday, and later apprehended Brown when they returned to the area to investigate an altercation, finding the Godfather of Soul's daughter involved in a heated argument with an unnamed woman.

She was handcuffed and charged on the scene, and is currently being held in the Richmond County jail.

Hope Campbell oversaw Brown as executive director of St. Stephens Ministry of Augusta, an organization dedicated to providing housing for people with HIV/AIDS. The extent of Campbell's injuries is currently unknown.
