Congratulations to J. Cole! The rhymer apparently tied the knot with his college sweetheart, Melissa Heholt.

Rumors surfaced that the 30-year-old proposed to Heholt last year, but it was never confirmed. But on Monday (Jan. 18) at MLKNow, a live event to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr., filmmaker Ryan Coogler accidentally spilled the beans.

"How did getting married change you bro?" asked Coogler, shocking J. Cole. Although he seemed to take the slip in in stride. "Oh what is that my man?" said the "GOMD" rapper as the audience laughed.

Coogler immediately went to apologize after the awkward moment while stating that he's never interviewed anybody before. "Was that off limits?" he asked. "That was like one thing to not do," J. Cole said. "But it's all good."

"Nobody knows?" asked Coogler "Well they know now," replied J. Cole, inciting more laughter.

The 2014 Forest Hills Drive creator is known for laying his personal life out for his fans so it's was especially shocking to learn that he kept this secret for so long.

At the New York event, the 30-year-old rhymer also spoke about the writing process behind "Be Free" after watching Cooler's film, Fruitvale Station.

"Everytime I see it I break down crying," said J. Cole of the movie. "You really did that man justice with a classic that's going to stand the test of time. But it's funny because that same level of like crying and breaking down that I experienced just from watching your film is exactly what inspired the song in a sense."
