Drake may not rap the same as Eminem but according to Irv Gotti, his sales make him the "Eminem of today."

During a recent appearance on the Drink Champs podcast, Gotti praised the Toronto rapper, saying if Drizzy was around during the late 1990s or early 2000s, he would have sold a lot more.

"If Drake was in my era, Drake would be selling 15 million to 20 million a clip, do you realize this?" said Irv. "So right now, he sells three, four [million]. If he was in my era, he’d be selling 15 to 20. Once he does something outside the music genre, he’s going to see how colossal he is." Irv also called the More Life rapper a "genius" and went on to say, "Dare I say, he's our Eminem of today."

As Irv said, Drake has had an extremely successful career so far with all of his studio albums going platinum or higher. The rapper's last album, Views, was certified platinum four times, while his mixtapes, If You're Reading This It's Too Late and What a Time to Be Alive also went platinum.
