Ice Cube has conquered music and film and now he’s entering into the world of video games. The rap vet teamed up with DJ Shadow to create an original song called “Nobody Wants to Die” for 2K’s new video game, Mafia III.

The song will be featured in the video game’s trailer, which you can viewed above. The game centers on a character named Lincoln Clay who plots revenge on the Italian mafia in 1968.

"It's all about getting some payback," Cube told the Associated Press. "It's cool to do something on this level for hip-hop. Most of the time it's for movies, commercials or TV."

As for the song's gritty verses, Cube said it was effortless to create. The Compton rhymer wanted his verses to mix what's happening in the real-life streets with the fake reality in the video game.

"As for the lyrics, when you say 'You lost family and friends' you got to feel that, 'cause anybody who grew up where we grew up lost family and friends," he said.

This isn't Cube's first foray into video games. The 47-year-old rapper lent his voice for Call of Duty: Black Ops.

2K's video game Mafia III will arrive in stores on Friday (Oct. 6).
