Rapper/actor Ice Cube is set to team up with NBA superstar LeBron James to create a one-hour drama based on the basketball star's high school years. Both Cube and James will serve as co-creators and executive producers for the project that will be a Cubevision/Springhill production set to air on ABC.

The pilot which is yet to be named is said to be a mix between 'Entourage' and the NBC series 'Friday Night Lights.' Production is said to kick off in spring 2009 with a projected air date sometime in the summer of 2009.

Cube, who's recently been attached to a few television projects, helmed the 2006 FX reality show 'Black/White' and will be serving as an executive producer for an upcoming cop comedy series for NBC.

In related news, a documentary which captures James' actual high school days will be opening in theatres in 2009. Interscope Records honcho Jimmy Iovine is linked to the documentary and has plans to promote the film via live performances and a soundtrack.
