Thunderstorms threatened the cancellation of Hot 97's Summer Jam this year but the famed radio station was intent on letting the show go on. And there was a full turnout -- even though the show began over two hours after start time.

With limited time, MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. wasted no time with opening acts; things kicked off with a heavy-hitter, G.O.O.D. Music.

Day 3 of Governor's Ball, which featured Kanye West as headliner, got cancelled but Summer Jam fans got to see Ye take the stage alongside Pusha T, Big Sean, 2 Chainz and Desiigner. Ye told the crowd that he had a conversation with God before the show and told him to "stop the rain." (In his defense, it didn't rain one bit for the entire show.) The hit-making collective performed tracks like "Famous," "IDFWU," and the Clipse throwback "Grindin." But it was G.O.O.D.'s newcomer, Desiigner, who ended up closing the show with his explosive track, Panda." The 19-year-old, who just celebrated his prom night last week, went to embrace Yeezy in a touching moment.

But what's hip-hop without a little bit of "trap soul?" Bryson Tiller made it to the main stage to serenade the crowd with his popular songs "Exchange" and "Don't." He also confessed that he "never thought he would ever perform in front of a crowd this big" and just last year he was doing "regular s---." The young singer also brought out Fabolous for a verse. Inspirational, indeed.

Next up was another hip-hop collective, Terror Squad, with Fat Joe and Remy Ma taking the helm. While their set was a bit shorter than G.O.O.D. Music's, the two were able to get through a ton of hits including "Lean Back," "What's Luv" (with a special appearance by Ashanti), "I'm Conceited" and their newest viral track, "All The Way Up."

But after Terror Squad finished their set, the real terror started on the ground floor when a fight broke out -- with two men using chairs as weapons. Many ran from the scene and security was able stop it from getting any further. The situation led to three arrests.

But, the show must go on. As the crowd was high on adrenaline, A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg took the stage to continue the turn up--with plenty of scantily clad women joining them.

DJ Khaled was the last artist -- unknowingly to the crowd (and possibly himself). But with the limited time, he certainly made it worthwhile--with a slew of artists including Rick Ross who performed "Blowing Money Fast" and Yo Gotti with "Down in the DM." "I've been backstage for four hours," said Khaled. "I have so many surprises."

Khaled brought O.T. Genasis next to perform his songs "I"m in Love with the Coco" and "Cut it." Then Busta Rhymes showed off his rhyming skills with the famous verse from "Look at Me," but instead of the original beat, the DJ switched it up and had Busta spit over a riddum, "for Brooklyn." The LOX, Mavado and Ty Dolla $ign were also some of Khaled's "surprises" for the night.

But before DJ Khaled could bring out "another one," the screens went black and his mic was cut. The show was over. Travi$ Scott, Young Thug, Kid Ink, Tinashe and Future were among the artists that didn't get to take the stage for their own sets. The fans started to chant for Future, but to no avail. Instead, they were met with a closing video for Summer Jam that thanked them for coming out and provided some ironic promotional words: "Hot 97 has the tickets for you to see Future live." Ouch, they played themselves.

The annual festival ended shortly before 2 a.m.

The festival stage was also cancelled earlier on due to the weather. Tory Lanez, Post Malone, Curren$y, Dave East, Justine Skye, Rotimi, Dougie F didn't get to perform.
