Hip-hop and R&B had strong showings at the 2013 Grammy Awards.

Drake's LP Take Care took home the award for Best Rap Album while Jay-Z and Kanye West won two awards-- Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance -- for "Ni**as In Paris."

The pair were also party to a Grammy win for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "No Church in the Wild," which featured Frank Ocean and The-Dream.

Beyonce quietly took home the trophy for Best Traditional R&B Performance with "Love On Top."

Elsewhere, Usher took home an award for "Climax" in the Best R&B Performance category and Miguel's "Adorn" nabbed the Best R&B Song award.

Frank Ocean's Channel Orange won for Best Urban Contemporary album, where he was up against Chris Brown no less. Brown was among the few people still sitting down when Ocean headed to the stage to collect his award.

Robert Glasper Experiment's hip-hop and R&B-tinged LP Black Radio nabbed the award for Best R&B Album.

And the performances -- who can forget the performances?? -- Jay-Z killed it on stage with Justin Timberlake during "Suit & Tie" and Frank Ocean pored his heart out during "Forrest Gump."

Lastly, the Grammys may have realized that all they've screwed up with rap over the years.

Grammy host LL Cool J closed the show with Public Enemy frontman Chuck D, along with Tom Morello and Travis Barker. They ripped through a handful of their classic rap cuts and even squeezed in a tribute to The Beastie Boys.

All in all it was a good night for hip-hop music.
