Nothing quite says West Coast like G-Funk, "California Love" and Warren G. The rapper turns 45 years old today (Nov. 10).

Warren G's cool-infused '90 G-Funk with a chill that contrasted against Tupac Shakur's mercurial presence. That style molded itself easily for some classic collaborations, including Nate Dogg's "Nobody Does It Better" and Snoop Dogg's "Ain't No Fun (If the Homies Cant Have None)." The rapper is also an accomplished producer; he helped Shaquille O'Neal become a gold-certified artist who also happens to be a future NBA Hall of Famer.

Of course, Warren G is known for the sess-blowing classic "Regulate" with Nate Dogg. The song is the title track to his great debut album, Regulate... G Funk Era. That project saw a sequel this year in Regulate... G Funk Era, Pt. II, one of the few hip-hop follow-ups worth listening to.
