Travi$ Scott is regarded by many as one of hip-hop's rising rap stars. He's received all this attention and is just turning 23 today (April 30).

Scott's musical interests were clear as he grew up in the suburban Texas neighborhood of Missouri City. He used to skip school to work with famed producer Mike Dean. After Scott released a few projects as part of hip-hop duo the Classmates, he decided to take his chances and move to Los Angeles where he linked with Illroots founder Mike Waxx. The hopeful artist started releasing music with his help.

Then the rapper, who is known to hide his face is videos and photos, somehow managed to get Kanye West's engineer's phone number and linked up to play music for him. He eventually met up with West in New York and has been coming up ever since.

The Very G.O.O.D. Beats artist -- the production wing of Yeezy's G.O.O.D. Music -- released his first solo EP, Owl Pharaoh, to critical acclaim in 2013. A year later, Days Before Rodeo mixtape dropped featuring the Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan-assisted "Mamacita." Aside from the critical praise it received, it proved Scott's production savvy and songwriting abilities. He also got attention for some key contributions, including a guest spot on Pusha T's Wrath of Caine, Yeezus and Cruel Summer.

Scott hasn't slowed down since he hit the mainstream. He had a hand in producing Rihanna's "Bitch Better Have My Money" and just finished the Rodeo Tour with Young Thug. His Rodeo album doesn't have a release date yet but he's probably getting ready to drop some more potential bangers soon.
