Big Boi is one of the most respected emcees in hip-hop. As one half of the legendary duo OutKast, the man born Antwan Patton helped put the South on the rap map back in the mid-1990s, alongside his partner-in-rhyme, Andre 3000. OutKast, of course, would go on one of the most acclaimed runs in music history.

And since 2007, Big Boi has been one of the game's most consistent elder statesmen, dropping his on visionary projects, collaborating with fellow creatives like Phantograms, and repping the A like he's the unofficial mayor. So with today being Big Boi's 42nd birthday, we decided to salute the man. So you can peep this unearthed 2004 Big Boi freestyle with Tim Westwood.
