After premiering in 2011, Love & Hip Hop still remains one of the most-watched reality TV franchises in cable television. Amina Buddafly definitely has a stake in that success. The songstress, whose real name is Aminata Schmahl, celebrates her 32nd birthday today (April 18).

Before joining Love & Hip Hop, Amina was a hopeful singer who moved from Germany with dreams of making it big in the music industry. When she was 13 years old, the Senegalese and German songbird partnered with her sisters, Jazz and Sophie, to form the R&B trio Choyce (aka Black Buddafly).

The sisters didn't have much mainstream success. They released two singles, including "Bad Girl" featuring Fabolous from the Waist Deep movie soundtrack.

Since the group disbanded, Amina is currently famous for being Peter Gunz's soon-to-be ex-wife on Love & Hip Hop. During season five of the series, we watch as her marriage to Gunz fall apart due to infidelity and run-ins with Gunz's ex Tara Wallace.

The R&B mom's newfound fame hasn't totally halted her music career. Earlier this week, Amina released her debut solo project titled Mymusic. You can purchased the album via iTunes.

While Amina's solo effort has been praised for its soulful vibe, fans are more interested on her romantic life on Love & Hip Hop. In an interview with Global Grind, Amina hopes to end her marriage to Gunz amicably without any friction between them.

"I'm not somebody that kicks somebody out, I don't want anything to be nasty between him and I -- ever," she said. "I just want to have a good relationship, but I know I can't continue being his wife the way I have been."

We wish Amina Buddafly a great birthday and hope her and Peter can resolve their marital problems.
