Rapper Gucci Mane will likely be coming home before the end of 2016. The troubled Atlanta star is currently incarcerated at the United States Penitentiary in Terre Haute, Ind., and while he was initially expected to be coming home in March 2017, it looks like his release has been moved up to September 2016.

According to a Federal Bureau of Prisons records query by Neil Martinez-Belkin, the rapper, born Radric Davis, is set to get out on Sept. 20 of this year.

Gucci pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm in May of 2014 and received a reduced sentence of 3 years in prison. He faced as many as 20 years for the charge, which was a violation of his parole. He's released a string of mixtapes since he's been behind bars, sustaining his musical career even without much visibility and he's also become something of a folk hero for younger rap stars like Young Thug.

GuWop's label, 1017 Records, had previously announced back in January that he would be released from prison as early as March of this year. But little more than a week later, the news was retracted from the label.
