Gorillaz had to cut their performance short at the 2018 Roskilde Festival on Saturday (July 7) after Del the Funky Homosapien fell from the stage during their set.

The band was performing songs from their just-released project, The Now Now at the Denmark festival when they decided take fans down memory lane. While the group was performing their 2001 hit “Clint Eastwood,” Del came out to spit his verse on the song and then suddenly he disappeared.

In a video that circulating around the web, it appears the Bay Area rhymer lost his footing and simply fell out of camera view. Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn rushed to Del’s aid and then told the crowd, "Thanks for a beautiful evening."

After the incident, Gorillaz released a statement to inform fans what had happened on the stage. “One of the Gorillaz artists, Del the Funky Homosapien, fell unfortunate from the stage during the last number of Gorillaz’ concert,” it reads. “He was seen on site by a doctor and went to the hospital for further investigation.”

"He's conscious and talking to his team. We hope he recovers quickly and wish him a speedy recovery," the statement concluded.

Meanwhile, Del went on his social media accounts to update his fans on his well-being. The rapper is still in the hospital but he's in good spirits.

"Thank you all for the love! I’m doing alright but will be in the hospital for a bit, the care here is outstanding though. Much love to [Gorillaz] for having me out and I’ll be back soon yall."

We are glad that Del is okay and we wish him a speedy recovery. Check out his unfortunate fall below.
