Kendrick Lamar displays a lot of bravado on his just-released project, DAMN., and claps back at those who have criticized him in the past.

On “YAH.,” K.Dot takes aim at Fox News pundit Geraldo Rivera who criticized Lamar’s performance of the track “Alright” at the 2015 BET Awards, and his belief that hip-hop has done more damage to African-Americans than racism.

On Facebook Live, Rivera addressed Lamar's verse and regurgitated the same opinions that he said on Fox News back in 2015. Before he began his diatribe, the veteran journalist first stated that he doesn’t have a problem with the Compton rhymer.

“Aside from Drake, in my opinion, [Lamar is] probably the best hip-hop artist out there today," he said.

From there he went on to to say that hip-hop constantly spews the most negative messages possible. Rivera also talked about the ongoing gun shootings in Chicago and how that is more damaging than police violence against African Americans. He then added that not all cops are bad.

"Yes there are awful, violent, sadistic cops out there," he said. "But that's not the big...the biggest threat to our young folks are other young folks."

"Admit it. Deal with it. Try and have a positive attitude. Stop the blaming [and] accept personal responsibility," he added.

Rivera later starts warbling lyrics to Marvin Gaye’s 1971 song “What’s Going On,” as an example of what young folks should be singing today instead of rapping songs by the late Notorious B.I.G.

“You have to take responsibility for yourself,” he concludes. “Do the best you can. Be practical, be hard working. If you don’t have a positive attitude you are dooming yourself to a life that you profess to despise.”

If you are familiar with Rivera, then you shouldn't be surprise by his comments about hip-hop. He's been spouting this spiel since 2015.

In response to Rivera over his 2015 BET Awards performance, Lamar said, “Hip-hop is not the problem. Our reality is the problem. Our whole message is we gonna be alright. It’s not the message I want to kill people.”
