Someone forgot to deliver the memo to Target that French Montana’s album, MC4, has been pushed back.

For those who don’t know, the "Lockjaw" rapper announced that he was postponing the release of his album, which was originally scheduled for Friday (Aug. 19), due to “sample clearance issues.”

However, one Target retailer stocked the album on its shelves early Friday morning, which could be problematic. Writer Matt Albin was in said Target purchasing another album when he noticed that MC4 was also on the shelf as well.

“I went to a Target to purchase Tory Lanez‘ new album I Told You and sitting right next to the album was MC4,” he writes on his blog, Fashionably Early. “I went to the self-checkout and had to receive customer assistance. The employee that came to fix the issue knew the album was pushed back and didn’t allow me to purchase it.”

Albin questions whether Epic really did pushed the album back or were they were trying to grab some early pre-order sales. Either way, somebody could get fired over this blunder.

For now, no new release date has been announced, however, there are some reports stating that MC4 will arrive in October. Reps for Epic Records and French Montana had no comment on the matter.
