Our prayers are with Freeway today. The Philly rapper has been diagnosed with kidney failure after a routine checkup with his physician.

According to REVOLT, the 37-year-old "What We Do" rhymer was rushed to receive an emergency dialysis immediately after the discovery on Thursday (Sept. 17). He is also expected to undergo another round of treatment on Friday (Sept. 18).

Freeway's manager, Amir Abbassy, told BallerStatus.com that his “first treatment was successful and he’s awake and smiling.”

Abbassy also went to Twitter to share thoughts and ask for prayers for Freeway.

"This is my best friend and he's a fighter. Prayers up," tweeted Abbassy with a photo of the famed rapper. He also noted that the past seven days was "one of the most difficult weeks my heart had in a long time."

Following news of his health scare, there's no word yet on whether Free Fest, the hip-hop festival run by Freeway, will still take place. Fans who were planning to head to Free Fest on Saturday (Sept. 19) may be disappointed since it's uncertain whether the show will go on. The free day-long event is expected to include freestyle cyphers, DJ showcases and performances by Freeway and his musical friends at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia.

Freeway calls the likes of Jay Z, Beanie Sigel, Statik Selektah, G-Unit and Marsha Ambrosius friends so it's likely to be a worthy lineup. In an Instagram video, the LOX mentioned that they may "touch that stage" as well.

Stay tuned for health updates on Freeway and Free Fest.
