With rappers like Jay-Z throwing their support behind same-sex marriage, there's reason to believe the hip-hop and R&B communities are becoming more tolerant of gays. Amid these changing currents, rumors have surfaced that Odd Future associate Frank Ocean will come out of the closet on his forthcoming Channel Orange album.

The up-and-coming singer has been holding listening parties all over the world, most recently in London, and after giving Channel Orange a spin, BBC 1 radio personality Max reported back on lyrics that would seemingly out Ocean as gay.

"Frank has also opened up about his sexuality on the album, we think it's brave and admire him for being so honest and sharing such a personal aspect of his life through his music," Max said. "On the songs 'Bad Religion' 'Pink Matter and 'Forrest Gump' you can hear him sing about being in love and their are quite obvious words used like 'him' and not 'her.'

"In the world we live in now we can't see this being an issue or why it should be?" she added. "But we do commend him for not continuing a facade and conforming to what a Hip Hop so called rule book expects, we say live your life and be yourself."

If Ocean were to out himself in such a public way, it would put him in rare company. While Game hinted last year that "several rappers" are gay, no major superstars have broadcast their homosexuality. Will Ocean test the waters, or are the rumors unfounded?
