Frank Ocean is often considered to be one of music’s most creative artists, so the Blonde singer being accused of plagiarism recently, comes as a shock.

According to a tweet from last week, one Twitter user claimed that the art used for Ocean’s radio show, blondedRADIO, was very similar to a poster which was used by Germany-based electronic artists, Jesse Osborne-Lanthier and Grischa Lichtenberger on their project, “Conversation Sur Lettres Mortes.”

Osborne-Lanthier went on Twitter late last week to comment on the situation, posting a side-by-side photo of the artworks in question. “LOL been brought to my att that Frank Ocean ripd-off Grischa Lichtenberger n I’s poster that came with ‘CSLM’ on cosmo rhythmatic last year,” Osborne-Lanthier tweeted.

The “Chanel” singer has yet to comment on the controversy but it’s not his first time being accused of plagiarism. In 2014, Don Henley of the rock band The Eagles threatened legal action after the singer sampled the band’s song “Hotel California” on his 2011 album, “Nostalgia, Ultra.”

“The younger generation… don’t understand the concept of intellectual property and copyright,” Henley told the Daily Telegraph. “You can’t re-write the lyrics to somebody else’s songs and record it and put it on the internet.”

He added, “Anyone who knows anything should know you cannot take a master track of a recording and write another song over the top of it. You just can’t do that … [But Ocean] was quite arrogant about it.”
