On July 31, the World Beatbox Association will be throwing it's first annual American Beatbox Championship in Brooklyn, New York.

Over the course of the year, the WBA has held three online video beatboxing competitions, whittling the initial 65 entrants down to just eight aspiring beatboxers. The final round takes place July 31 and the winner will take home $3,000 in cash and equipment. The event will be judged by world-famous beatboxers Kenny "The Human Orchestra" Muhammed, Chesney Snow and A Tribe Called Quest's Jarobi White.

The Championship takes place on the same weekend another WBA event, Boxcon, which is also making its United States debut, featuring live performances, open mics workshops and panel discussions on the art of the human beatbox.
