Earlier this summer, we reported that Bronx spitter Fat Joe had been sentenced to four months for tax evasion. And as of yesterday morning, the slimmed-down MC began his prison bid in Miami, Fla.

According to TMZ, Joe turned himself in at Miami's Federal Detention Center and is set to serve four months behind bars. He faced two years for the charges—he pleaded guilty to not paying around $1 million in taxes—but his sentence was ultimately reduced. He must also pay a $15,000 fine and faces a year of supervision once his bid is over.

Before heading to prison, Joe released the third entry in his ongoing 'The Darkside' mixtape series. The rugged project features 10 new tracks with production from the likes of DJ Premier, Cool & Dre, and 9th Wonder.

It's Premo who actually laced the toughest cut on the tape, 'Your Honor,' that also features a standout guest verse from Queens' Action Bronson. Hopefully this is a sign of more Joey Crack-era cuts to come from the not-as-fat-anymore Joe.
