Fantasia Releases Emeli Sande-Penned ‘Side Effects of You’

As she prepares for her Broadway run with the musical revue 'After Midnight,' Fantasia has picked 'Side Effects of You' as her next single from her latest album of the same name.

The heartbreaking ballad was written by Emeli Sande, who is a talented songbird in her own right.

On the Naughty Boy-produced song, Fantasia yearns for a cure to get rid of her heartbreak. She's been taking every medicine out there but no result. She soon realizes that it's the side effects of her ex-lover that's keeping her ill.

"Losing balance, falling down / Sleepless nights whenever you're not around / Nobody told me, nobody told me, the side effects of you," she sings.

Fantasia's voice shines on the ballad as she vividly describes how her heart has been tortured by the separation.

"This song is one of my favs," she writes via Twitter.

Along with 'Side Effects of You,' Fantasia also plans to release her holiday ballad 'What Christmas Means to Me.' The yuletide ditty is from the upcoming 'The Best Man Holiday' soundtrack, which arrives in stores Oct. 29.
