Former 'American Idol' star Fantasia Barrino was admitted to a hospital in North Carolina on Monday night (Aug. 9) where she was reportedly treated for "medication overdose."

According to Charlotte's NewsChannel 36, the 26-year-old musician and actress was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville at 8:55PM on Monday where she immediately received treatment. Although the sources have not been able to confirm whether or not the overdose was intentional or accidental, doctors have revealed that her condition is not life-threatening and her manager released a statement talking down the situation.

"She took an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid," the statement from Barrino's manger assured. "Her injuries are not life threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time. Fantasia is stable now. She will be released from the hospital soon."

News of Barrino's overdose comes only days after the Broadway star was named in a new sex tape scandal. North Carolina resident Paula Cook recently filed court papers against the Broadway star, accusing her of having an affair with her husband. In her court papers, Cook claims that there is a sex tape between Barrino and her husband Antwaun Cook to show proof of the affair.

On Monday, Fantasia's lawyer explained to TMZ that her client is "certain that she is not responsible for the deterioration of Cook's marriage."
