15 years ago, TLC and music lovers everywhere lost the vibrant Lisa “Left Eye" Lopes. The rapper-singer was killed in a car accident in Honduras on April 25, 2002. She was just 30 years old.

Left Eye was the soul and sparkplug of the group, and TLC empowered women with anthemic songs like “What About Your Friends,” “Waterfalls,” “No Scrubs” and “Unpretty.” Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas soldier on today as a duo, having released a new single just two weeks ago.

Fans on Twitter remembered Left Eye for her fiery and rebellious spirit. Much like Aaliyah, who died a year prior, Left Eye's life was cut short just as she was in the early stages of her solo career.

"Left Eye showed me what small but fearless looked like when I was a kid. I loved how she embraced herself," tweeted one fan. Another person wrote, "Always feel #LeftEye was the female Pac because how honest they were all speaking their mind on certain topics."

Finally, one fan sum it up the best: "I refuse to celebrate Left Eye's death because she still lives on in my heart. I'm a TLC fan for life."
