Hip-hop icons Eric B. and Rakim reunited for the first time at Harlem’s Apollo Theater to perform their classic 1987 debut album Paid in Full in its entirety on Friday (July 7).

According to Ambrosia for Heads, who recorded some of the performances, the two-hour concert featured several artists paying tribute to the rap duo. Hip-hop luminaries such as EPMD, Ice-T, Kool Herc, Flava Flav, Special Ed, Main Source, Joeski Love, Ma$e, T La Rock, Peter Gunz, Al B. Sure, Fat Joe, Maino, Sweet Tee, Roxanne Shante, Mr. Cheeks, Lovebug Starski and more were on hand to salute Eric B. and Rakim for their enduring legacy in rap.

Rakim, who donned military gear throughout the show, hit the stage twice during the evening, performing “I Ain’t No Joke,” “My Melody,” “I Know You Got Soul” and “Eric B. Is President.” During his rendition of “Paid In Full,” the God MC allow the crowd to rap his infectious lyrics.

Rakim is still rocking the mic. You can catch him on spot dates for the Art of Rap tour. The veteran rhyme-slinger will perform at the Chicago stop of the rap festival on July 22. Before that, Rakim will appear at a discussion as part of Wes Jackson’s “Told It First Hand” series at the 2017 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival.
