EminemMulti-platinum rapper Eminem, who was notably quiet for the last half-decade, has announced his interest in appearing as a judge on UK talent show, 'The X Factor,' which launched the careers of UK artists Leona Lewis and Leon Jackson.

Em told the Britain Sun that he'd jump at the opportunity to give the hip-hop community a voice on the Simon Cowell-helmed panel, which has also featured celebrity judges, Sharon Osbourne, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole.

"No disrespect to the current judges but you need people who are global, platinum-selling stars," Em said. "You need to prepare contestants for what it's really like out there and what sort of pressure you are going to be under ... A hip-hop star will never win a show like 'The X Factor' without somebody like me on the panel. There are a lot of very talented hip-hop stars who would kill for a break in Britain but the judges aren't qualified in hip-hop. I keep my eye on the urban scene in Britain and there is a lot of talent out there. It needs
somebody in power to open a door for them."

Obviously, it's highly unlikely that Eminem would actually appear on the UK show for a whole season, so he added a caveat, saying, "I am not sure I would have the time to do it full-time, but I would come and be a guest judge. Simon tells it like it is and I am down with that. If somebody ain't good enough they ain't good enough."

Em's take on aspiring UK MCs would be fun to watch. His 'Relapse: Refill,' will be in stores Dec. 21, with his highly-anticipated 'Relapse 2' soon to follow.
