EminemFollowing the successful release of his spring 2009 album 'Relapse,' Eminem promised fans that he would return later in the year with a follow up to the platinum LP. The album's release was eventually delayed until 2010, but the mysterious MC crushed hopes of the follow-up with a brief message on his Twitter account today.

"There is no Relapse 2," he wrote on Wednesday morning, April 14, giving no further details. The quick drop came following a March 29 tweet, which promised fans that they had something to look forward to. "And don't worry," he wrote. "Some big news is coming. Soon." The BoomBox reached out to Interscope Records in an attempt to confirm the accuracy of Em's tweet, but the rapper has not issued a formal statement as yet. The news comes as a shock in light of all the recent updates on the album. Just last month, producer Just Blaze, told The BoomBox that he was completing work on the highly-anticipated album. "I'm out in Detroit and we're wrapping that ['Relapse 2'] up now," he said.

Eminem himself, announced that the LP was near completion in late 2009, saying that he only had to decide how many tracks would make the cut for the album. In addition to news that he was putting the finishing touches on 'Relapse 2,' Em has also been busy in the studio, working with other artists. He recently recorded a verse on 'Airplanes (Part II)' for B.o.B.'s upcoming album 'The Adventures of Bobby Ray.'
